Terms and Conditions

Booking with Journey South:

All reservations made through Journey South are subject to the booking conditions listed on this document.

Pricing:

Pricing is usually quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) or Unites States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.  Prices include GST at 15%.  Pricing includes land components (such as but not limited to hotels, tours, trains, car rental, transfers) of your vacation.  It does not include airfare unless stated on the itinerary and invoice.  It does not include items of a personal nature, tips, travel protection, meals or drinks, passport and visa costs or any other item not listed on the itinerary and invoice.

Pricing is subject to change at anytime until paid for in full.  Any changes to the itinerary are subject to price changes.

Quoting:

Journey South takes great pride in working closely with the client to create a fully customized and very detailed itinerary and therefore reserves the right to charge a $200 planning fee.  Should the quote become a confirmed booking, this planning fee will be applied to the invoice.

Booking requirements and payments:

In order to secure reservations we require a Journey South non-refundable land deposit of 25% of the total land cost. By making a deposit the client agrees they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.  Any additional supplier deposit that is required will be advised and also collected at this time.  No reservations are made until a deposit has been received.  Final payment is due at least 8 weeks prior to your departure.  Any reservations made within 8 weeks of departure will require full payment at the time of booking.  Failure to make your payments in time could result in the cancellation of your booking.

During peak travel season payment may be required at time of booking but you will be notified of this at the time of making your first payment.

Payments are accepted by direct bank deposit, bank check or Visa or Master-card.  Bank details are available on request.

The 25% land deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances as work has been done to arrange and secure your vacation. If you are unable to travel due to government travel restrictions and/or border controls and with permission from suppliers, we will allow the deposit to be put towards future travel.

Airlines have their own restrictions and vary per airline but Journey South will do their best to secure any refund or credits on your behalf should you need to change. This is not guaranteed but we will make our best efforts.

With all Journey South and Airline credits that can be put towards future travel – there may be differences in costs for new dates which will need to be collected.

Changes:

Any changes to your itinerary must be made in writing and are subject to a Journey South change fee of $100.  Additional fees charged by suppliers may also be charged and you will be advised of these changes at that time.

Cancellations:

All canceled bookings must be notified in writing.  The following Journey South fees will apply to land arrangements

Canceled 57 days or more prior to departure – loss of deposit

Canceled 30-56 days prior to departure – 50% of total land booking value

Canceled within 30 days of departure – 100% of total land booking value

No-shows – 100% cancellation fees apply

All airfares are non refundable once airline tickets have been paid for and tickets issued.

Some suppliers or operators have additional fees and these will be advised at the time of cancellation.

Passports and Visas:

Journey South cannot assist with passports.  Journey South can issue and Australian Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) for many countries passport holders – please check when booking if we can assist.  There is a $30 charge for issuing the ETA.  Journey South cannot be held responsible for any issued with your travel documentation.

Travel Insurance:

Journey South strongly recommends you purchase travel insurance to protect you against any unforeseen circumstances.

Complaints:

Should you not be happy with any aspect of your vacation, please first notify the supplier involved.  Then if necessary please follow up immediately with your representative at Journey South who will do their best to resolve any issues you may have.  If a resolution cannot be made immediately please put your complaint in writing within 2 weeks of your return home.

Privacy:

Journey South will not share your personal information with any other party without your consent except to relevant suppliers on your itinerary that may need your contact details.

Journey South Liability:

We work closely with our clients to ensure they are matched well to our supplier partners.  We use our best judgment and 30 years experience in the business to only book reputable products.   We will endeavor to match the most suitable travel arrangements to your particular requirements, however travel is an individual experience and your preferences may differ from ours so we therefore take no responsibility for your personal satisfaction.

The client accepts that Journey South at all times acts only as an agent for all accommodations, airlines, excursion and transport operators, and that Journey South is not liable in relation to any of these suppliers services. All bookings are made subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by service providers. Journey South excludes liability for the supply of all leisure and recreational services.

The client, when making a booking with Journey South accepts all risks involved in their travel plans.

Journey South cannot be held liable for any weather related acts or any other act beyond our control such as but not limited to earthquakes, acts of terrorism, strikes, riots, epidemics, war, quarantines or customs regulations.

Medical Conditions:

It is the clients full responsibility to advise Journey South of any medical conditions in writing that may affect their ability to participate in a tour.  Journey South are not liable should a supplier deem a client unfit to participate in a tour or activity and the client acknowledges for safety reasons this is at the supplier's discretion.

Law of Contract:

These booking conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand and any action arising under them or in any way connected with the itinerary may be brought only in a court in New Zealand.
